Expedition and Trekking Peaks Climbing Information

Nepal is a mountainous country and the major portion of the world-famous Himalayan Range lies in Nepal. Nepal is home to eight of the fourteen 8000m peaks in Nepal including Mount Everest, the highest in the world. Other 8000m peaks in Nepal are Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Manasulu, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Lhotse. Apart from these mountains, Nepal is home to hundreds of other magnificiant and challenging peaks - the likes of Amadablam, Island, Mera, Kusum Kanguru, Chulu, Pisang, Naya Kanga and others. The Government of Nepal has opened 326 peaks for mountaineering and expeditions.

Since 1978 the government of Nepal has authorized the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) to issue permits for small-scale attempts on 18 peaks ranging from 5,587m to 6,654m. Those who would like to climb these trekking peaks must fulfill certain requirements by paying a fee and submitting an application.

Few of the trekking peaks can be 'walked up' and some peaks can be technically demanding and dangerous. Even 'small' peaks are much higher than any mountain in North America and Europe. The ascent of a peak requires one or more high camps that must be established and stocked. Most of the trekking peaks require a minimum of four days and it can take as much as three weeks for an ascent. A climbing permit does not replace a trekking permit. So, you need both the permits if you are climbing a trekking peak as well.

Being an active member of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, Adventure Zambuling Treks (P) Ltd. will arrange all the necessary formalities for your Peak Climbing excursion as well as obtaining all necessary permissions for Peak Climbing. We are proud to announce that our company is the best NMA peaks selling company. Moreover, we are also a member of the Mountaineering Rescue Association and TAAN (Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal). We provide trained, qualified and experienced climbing guides to ensure 100% safety and success of your peak climbing expedition.
