Naya Kanga Peak Climbing

It is newly opened peak for trek lovers by Nepalese Government. It was formally known as Kanga Chuli. It is situated in the southern flank of Langtang region of Nepal and towering over the south of alpine Langtang valley and holy lakes of Gosainkunda. The normal route to this peak is via the snowy northeast ridge over a line on ice and snow. The trip starts either from Dhunche or Syabru Bensi approximately drive of 8 to 9 hours from Kathmandu only by 4 WD. From Dhunche the trail goes slowly up to the Kyangjin Gompa, a famous Buddhist monastery. This trekking valley is one of the poor and remote area. Most of the people are Tamang and Tibetean. This destination is situated near the Tibet border. The main highway of this trek area reaches to Tibet border (Kerung). During this trek we can observe the local tradition and culture. Most of this trekking route passes through dense forest along the side of Langtang river.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m.)
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan international airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight in Hotel
Day 02: Rest, climbing permit issue, pre trip briefing and climbing preparation day.
Today, you will check your equipments, collect climbing permit, pre trip briefing and meet your Nepalese trekking and climbing staffs. If you are interest to visit Kathmandu, let us know, Overnight in Hotel
Day 03: Kathmandu – Syabrubensi(1503m.). Drive 8/9 hours
Early morning drive to Pasang Lammu Highway, Trisuli – Dhunche - Syaphrubasi (1503m). After arrival rest of time exploring around the valley or Chileme Hydro Power project, Overnight in lodge.
Day 04: Syabrubensi – Lama Hotel 2450m. Walking 6 hours
Start trekking on foot crossing the Bhote Koshi Nadi river and very soon within 2 minutes again cross Langtang River. Following Langtang River into grassland to reach landslides area. We may have lunch if you are hungry otherwise continues walk inside jungle. Very much possible to see hug monkey and others wild animals on the way, if we are lucky, we can see red panda in wild. One hours walk to reach Bamboo Lodge. The trail continues follow the up river valley than cross the Langtang River and steeply climb to reach Rimche (1½ hours). Another half an hour to reach Lama Hotel. Originally its call Changtang, 2450m. Overnight in Lodge.
Day 05: Lama Hotel – Langtang Village 3430m. Walking 6½ hours
After breakfast, trek start around 7/8 O'clock. First part we trek into jungle following the Langtang River. Crossing the Gumnachock, Chhunama, Ghodatabela (National park office situated), we need to check permit and continue climb Chyamki to reach Langtang village (3430m), it takes 5 hours see the view of Langtang Range, Sherpa Monastery and Sherpa Village, Overnight in Lodge.
Day 06: Langtang – Kyangjing Gompa 3830m. Walking 3 hours
Today trekking is easy and short distance. Leaving the Langtang village, we gradually climbing up, passing mani wall (tipical Buddhist painted wall with sacred Buddhist script). We will recommend to our client to walk in left side of such walls as culturally. Passing Sindu, old Tibetan village, we reach to Kyangjing Gompa (3830m), 3½ hours. The view of Langtang Lirung and all range is gorgeous. Kyangjin Gomba is last place of our trekking in Langtang valley. Here is monastery, local yak cheese factory, Mountain View, mountain Lake and glacier etc. You are very near the Langtang Lirung glacier. If you are interested and weather and your health is fine, after lunch we can climb Kyangjin Ri 4773m 2 to 3 hours both way, overnight in Lodge.
Day 07: Kyangjing Gompa rest and Explore
Today is the rest day so a day trip around Langshisa Kharka 4285m 4/5 hrs both way or climb Cherko Ri (4984m) 5 hours both way, or visit Ganjala pass or Naya Kanga valley, or enjoying the view from hotel and Yak Cheese. This day is very important for AMS, Overnight in Lodge.
Day 08: Kyangjing Gompa – Naya Kanga (Ganja-La) Base Camp(4600m.). Walking 4/5 hours Tented Camp.
After breakfast start trekking all the way down to river bank and cross the Langtang River and need to climb all the way with pine and fir forest with lots of small bush around heading towards Naya Kanga base camp. Overnight in Camp,.
Day 09: Naya Kanga (Ganja-La) BC – High Camp(4960m.). Walking 3 hours.Tented Camp.
Early morning in the Basecamp after breakfast, your climbing support guide will provide you basic mountain climbing training and brief about the technical aspect of this peak climbing. You can ask your questions if you have any about climbing to be clear yourselves about issues. Today the distance is very short climb to High camp of Naya Kanga. Overnight in camp.
Day 10: Climb Naya Kanga (Ganja-La)(5844m.). Tented Camp.
Early morning start to climb the Naya Kanga peak, return to Base camp. Overnight in Camp.
Day 11: Base Camp to Kyangjing Gompa. Walking 4 hours
Morning, we will clean base camp and all the way return to Kyanjing Gomba the same way, overnight lodge, 5 hours.
Day 12: Kyangjing Gompa – Lama Hotel. Walking 6-7 hours
Same way return to Lama hotel, overnight in lodge, 5/6 hours
Day 13: Lama Hotel – Syabrubesi Walking 7 hours
All the way to Syabrubesi as same as before, take 5/6 hours, overnight in lodge.
Day 14: Syabrubensi - Kathmandu Drive 7- 8 hours
Take early morning bus to Kathmandu 7-8 hours drive, transfer to hotel, overnight in Hotel
Day 15: Free day in Kathmandu
This is final day in Nepal. Time to explore this fascinating city with its temples and markets, or take an optional excursion into the Kathmandu Valley (which can be booked locally though our office).
Day 16: Transfers to airport for your final departure.
