MUSTANG TREK

 

Mustang is remote Himalayan principality on the boarder of Nepal and Tibet. It has long been considered " lost and forbidden" kingdom lying behind Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif . It is barren and dry region, a miniature Tibet. It was one of the important trade route to Tibet and India and aa passage to Mt. Kailash. The landscape, the Gompa, monasteries, and palace of Mustang Raja is still intact. A handful of scholars and explorers were permitted to visit the region in the past. In October 1991 Nepal government opened its doors.

 

Itinerary #1
Upper Mustang Trek (Full Camping)
Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 02 : ½ day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and preparation day
Day 03 : Fly or drive to Pokhara and transfer to hotel
Day 04 : Early morning fly to Jomsom and immediately trek to Kagbeni (2847m).

Enter Restricted Area

Day 05 : Trek to Chaile (3050m).
Day 06 : Trek to Geling (3500m).
Day 07 : Trek to Charang (3620m).
Day 08 : Trek to Lo-manthang(3840m).
Day 09 : Explore around Lo-Manthang.
Day 10 : Trek to Ghami
Day 11 : Trek to Samar
Day 12 : Trek to Kagbeni.

Exit Restricted Area

Day 13 : Trek to Jomsom.
Day 14 : Early morning fly back to Pokhara to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 15 : Rest day or final shopping day
Day 16 : Final departure to homeland.

Round Mustang Trek (Full camping Trek)
Day 01: Arrival at the Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: ½ day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley(Pashupati, Baudhanath, Soyambhunath) and preparation day.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
Day 04: Early morning flight to Jomsom(2750m.) and immediately trek to Kagbeni(2800m.).
Day 05: Trek to Chele(3050m.). Enter into restricted area.
Day 06: Trek to Geling(3510m.)
Day 07: Trek to Tsarang(3620m.)
Day 08: Trek to Lo-Mangthan(3730m.)
Day 09: Exploration to Chosar area with horse ridding and back to Lo-Mangthan.
Day 10: Trek to Dhe(approx: 3500m.)
Day 11: Trek to Tangya (approx: 3375m.)
Day 12: Trek to Tetang(approx: 3500m.)(This is the longest trail day)(approximately 9 to 10 hours walk)
Day 13: Trek to Muktinath(3795m.) Exit from Restricted area.
Day 14: Trek to Jomsom(2750m.)
Day 15: Early morning flight to Pokhara and little sightseeing in Lake valley and in afternoon flight to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 16: Rest or final shopping day in Kathmandu valley
Day 17: Final departure to your homeland

Day 07 : Trek to Tukuche (2590m).
Day 08 : Trek to Jomsom (2750m).
Day 09 : Trek to Kagbeni (2847m).

Enter Restricted Area

Day 10 : Trek to Chaile (3050m).
