Mt Chekigo (6257m)

Chekigo (6257m) shone in the morning sun, seen on the trail from Dongang Kharka to the trail from the Daldung La. The Menlung La is to the left. This wonderful summit is located in a wild area in Khumbu valley, close to Everest. For moment this peak is unknown and just a few climbers reached the top. The first ascent of Chekigo was completed on May 15, 2005 via the west face by Bruce Normand from U.K. and Oliver von Rotz from Switzerland. This area is very easy for access from kathmandu by road. During the trip, you will be able to meet local nepali people from different ethnics group and to visit some very famous religious sites hindu and buddhists like Biju gompa and Kalinchok. The view is very various from green area to the glaciers.

 

 

ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Full day Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley and preparation for the trek
Day 03: Drive to Shingati (950m).
Day 04: Trek to Jagat (1150m).
Day 05: Trek to Simigaoun (1990m).
Day 06: Trek to Gyalche (2990m).
Day 07: Trek to Beding (3690m).
Day 08: Rest and little hike in Beding for Acclimatization
Day 09: Trek to Chekigo base camp.

Day 10-19: Climbing Period

Day 20: Trek to Beding.
Day 21: Trek to Simigaon.
Day 22: Trek to Jagat
Day 23: Trek to Shingati
Day 24: Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

Route Map

Day 25: Rest and final shopping day in Kathmandu Valley
Day 26: Final departure to home land.
